Dear Mrs. Harvey:

The records of this office show Mrs. Mary Buford Fitzhenry of Lavaca County, Texas filed application for Confederate Pension in August, 1921 on the military service record of Almond Fitzhenry as a Confederate Soldier. The application for pension of Mrs. Fitzhenry was approved under file number 37605.

The application of Mrs. Fitzhenry was approved on the following report furnished this office by the Adjutant General, War Department, Washington, D.C.

"Almond Fitzhenry, Pvt. Co. "A", Waller's Battalion, Texas Cavalry, Confederate States Army enlisted May 9____ at Lavaca County. Company Muster Rolls for January and February, 1864 (last on file) shows him absent on Horse detail by order of General Magruder. No capture, parole or any later record found."

Mrs. Fitzhenry stated in her application for pension that she was 76 years of age at the time of filing her application in 1921 and that she was born in Polk County, Texas. She was married to Mr. Almond Fitzhenry on March 20, 1867 in Gonzles County, Texas and his death occurred July 7, 1890.
