I am trying to locate any information available on my great-grandmother, Julia Irene (SHARP) KNIGHT (01/26/1889-05/27/1983). She was widowed by my great-grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Knight (07/05/1886-06/??/1948). She never remarried. I understand that she lived much, if not most, of her life in Beckville, Texas. In later years, she resided (and, I think) died in a nursing home in Shiner. I do not know whether or not she had siblings. Her father's name is either Alexander Thomas Sharp or Thomas Alexander Sharp, I'm not sure which. Her mother was Elnora BARBER. I would be ever grateful for any assistance you could provide on the SHARP, BARBER, and KNIGHT individuals and allied family members. Thank you in advance for your time. Sincerely, Monica Pleasants Molinar

HARMS/ADDICKS: I am searching for Heinrich (Henry) Harms and his wife Johanna Addicks (ADECKS/ADICKS) who were found in the 1860 Lavaca Co Tx census. I think that they may have married in Lavaca or Colorado Co shortly before 1855. I found Johanna Adicks Harms in the Sublime Cemetery, she died in 1904. Her husband Heinrich (Henry) Harms died before the 1880 census but I don't know if he was in Colorado or Lavaca Co. They seemed to move back and forth between these two counties or the county line changed. Johanna Addicks was born in 1834 in Oldenburg, Germany and I believe she had a brother named Fredrick J. Addicks who also lived in the Sublime area. Does anyone have any info on these two families? Can anyone do a 1850 census lookup for the Addicks family in Lavaca Co Tx? Any Addicks or Harms information would be appreciated. Thanks, Kaye Hancock

Benny and Linda Huff Sun, 1 Jul 2001 18:04:05
My name is Benny Huff. I am looking for the burial site of George COOK. I found him in both the 1860 and 1870 Lavaca County census. He was born in Prussia, Oldenberg, Germany. In 1870 he was 47. His wife was named Nancy and in 1870 she was 49. I know that Nancy was a widow in Lavaca county so I expect that George is buried there. In 1870 his children were John Henry (14), Mary (13), Lucinda (12), Margaret (12), and James (6). His name may have been spelled KOCH at one time. I am descended from John Henry. I have family photos of John Henry and James that I am willing to share. I also have a clothes brush that George brought with him from Germany that I would love for other descendents of George to see. I would love to contact descendents of Mary, Lucinda or Margaret and it would mean a great deal to me if I could find the burial site of George and his wife Nancy.

I am looking for someone to do research for me in the Lavaca Co. area. I will pay for copies and expenses. What I would like researched is a newspaper article on the death of John W. HAYNES. He was born March 3, 1854 in Alabama and died in Lavaca Co. Texas on November 27, 1889. He was a well digger and in the process of digging a well it caved in on him and injured him. He later died of these injuries. There may have been an obituary or an article about the accident. He is buried in the Geiger Cemetery near Sublime, Texas. His wife was Anna Melissa BRISCO. He married December 01, 1886 in Lavaca Co. Texas. I do not know who his parents were. Although, I have an 1880 census in Lavaca Co. where J. W. Haynes is listed as head of the household. This is my John Haynes. His father may be dead then and his mother is with him listed as L.A. Haynes. I would appreciate any information on him that I can get.
