ALSO KNOWN AS MEEKS CEMETERY
HOPE, LAVACA COUNTY, TEXAS
According to Sammy Tise this small cemetery is located at the fork of where Scarborough Branch and Snake Hollow meet. There were only four markers when he visited in 1983, but he was told there had been at least twice as many at one time. The oldest marker was for William New who died at Hope on 28 Jan 1865. Go south on Hwy 77 to Hope, turn right at the crossroads at the Hope Store. Go to Blanch Hammon place on the left. You have to walk across her property to the back fence. The cemetery is just across the fence on the Deborah property.
